It's Giveaway Day! Hooray!

Yay! It's Giveaway Day!

'Tis the season of holly and being jolly and of other things ending in -olly, and of course, it's also time for Giveaway Day! This year marks my 5th time taking part in what has become a weeklong event of generosity, holiday spirit and lots and lots of wonderful crafts and crafty goodies. And I'm just as delighted to be taking part this year as I've been all the previous years! :)

Cinnamon the rag-gingerbear

This is Cinnamon the rag-gingerbear.
I am giving her away to one lucky commenter who leaves a comment here, between now and the 7th of December, telling me about what you think is the very best thing about the holiday season. Every commenter will be assigned a number, with the first person to comment being number 1 and the second commenter would be number 2 and so forth, and then come the 7th, I'll draw a random number to see who's the lucky person that Cinnamon goes home to (I'm happy to ship internationally, so it doesn't matter where you're from).

pretty baubles

Cinnamon loves everything about the holiday season! She decks the halls full of sparkly Christmas decorations, cooks and bakes a whole lot of holiday treats and sends towering piles of Christmas greetings every year.
Cinnamon is made out of soft gingerbread-brown wool and she's stuffed with rags and polyfill and she has tiny little white buttons for eyes, an embroidered nose and gently blushing cheeks. She has a jolly red button, a wooden button and an icing white button on her front and her ear-bow is made out of an old cotton pillowcase.
Cinnamon is about 32 cm tall, but her diminutive size doesn't limit her enthusiasm for all things Christmas-y! :)

As for my favourite thing about Christmas, well, it's actually two, because I just can't decide between all the pretty, sparkly decorations and lights and all the delicious food and treats! That's why there's more photos of Cinnamon in my Flickr, because I had the hardest time making up my mind which ones -these ones with the shiny baubles or ones with all sorts of yummy Christmas treats- to use. :)

Be sure to have a look at all the other blogs taking part in Giveaway Day too. There's oodles of handmade goods and craft supplies being given away by oodles of wonderful crafters, and you can find a list of all of it here: http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/category/contests/

Added on the 7th of December: The giveaway is now closed, and so are the comments on this post. I'll announce the winner in just a bit! :)

For me, the best in Christmas time is to be with my family. I see them about twice a year, so time with them is special. *3*

ooh great giveaway, little cinnamon is SO CUTE!

The best thing about Christmas is spending it with close family and friends, talking about those who are no longer with us, eating good food and sharing the spirit of the season!! Christmas is not about gifts but about the gift of people you love in your life!

Hello Cinnamon! How lovely you'd look next to my Christmas tree!
I love Christmas because i get to see my Niece, Sister and Brother-in-law, who live far away. This Christmas is especially special for me as it's my first Chrsitmas in my own house! Decorating the tree exactly as i wanted it was a real treat!
Good luck to all who enter the competition and a peaceful, healthy and HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all :)

My favourite during the holidays is surely food : as in France we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, this is the time for great lunches and great dinners with the hole family (and great food) !

My favorite would have to be spending time with family and opening presents. I love giving presents to people!

The best thing is "glögi" (I don't know what it is in English) and gingerbreads.

so so so adorable... favorite thing? the whole month of planning and baking and celebrating and cuddling with family. love it. tahnk yoU!

I love that so many people focus on giving, family, and charity during the christmas season. Just wish more of us would keep those things as a focus all year round!

On the more superficial end, I love sparkly decorations and christmas music :)

If I may be a little selfish, I think the best thing about the holiday season is that I can get more time to knit and read books. I love snuggling up in the sofa with a knitting or a good book and just "disappear" for a few hours.

being snowed in with my family!:)

My favorite part is having the chance to see family that I have not seen in a year. It is expensive and exhausting to brave the airports this time of year, but I always try to remember how fortunate that we have the technology to travel so far, and that I have the means to access this type of transportation once a year.
P.S. So excited to see you are from Finland. I was there on an 8 week exchange in high school and loved it. Hyvää joulua!

Being with family. Christmas crafts with kiddos. Cold weather, warm blanket and a hot chai. :D

The very best thing about Christmas is that Jesus was born for us and that we can spend Christmas with our families.

For me, it's so fun to have so many traditions and activities that we do together as a family.

Like you I can't pick just ONE! =0) I love so much about this time of year... the cookies you never have at any other time...the lights sparkling in the tree...my kitty wanting those dangling ornaments so bad! >^..^< Sewing gifts for all on my list! See, told you I couldn't pick one! Happy Holidays to you - little Cinnamon is adorable!

oh, she's gorgeous!

lovely Cinnamon (my favourite spice)! i would love to welcome you in to our family this Christmastime and i know my little Elsa would be especially delighted be your friend :)

festive times are wonderful and there is so much about this season i love...but i guess now the best thing is seeing and sharing it with our daughter as she discovers all the magic.

thanks so much for including me in your generous giveaway. wishing you a Merry Christmas xx

Oh, Cinnamon is so cute and if I won I'd give her to my new little niece!
My favorite part of the holidays is being with family, sharing stories and, of course, all the wonderful food that comes with.
Thanks so much for the lovely giveaway!

For me the best thing about Christmas is staying cozy at home with my family, cooking delicious meals and seeing the joy on my kids' faces when they're opening their presents!

To me the very best thing about the holiday season is spending extra time with the kids. We start making the advent chains and Christmas ornaments after Thanksgiving. Then putting up the tree. Then we always bake cookies to give as gifts as well as cookies for them to decorate and eat themselves. There is just something about watching this time of year through their eyes and the joy that it brings them.

The best thing about the holiday season is the parties. I love spending time with my friends and family and even though everyone is "busy" we always make time to come together for parties

I love the Christmas music! Thanks for the chance!

I lost my sister on Christmas day a few years ago, and since then, Christmas has become even more important to our family. It's a day to get together, and love one another. To celebrate my sister's life and know we aren't alone in our sadness. And even though she's now gone, we can still smile and sing songs and life goes on. <3

The things I enjoyed most is staying cozy at home to spend time with friends & family, watching the old favourite movies ("The Sound of Music" is my favourite), and having all the cookies & chocolates... (BTW, little Cinnamon is soooo cute, keep up your good work :)

What an adorable little bear!
The thing I enjoy most about the holidays is sharing the traditions from my childhood with my own children and creating new traditions too!

I love your ginger-bear. She's so sweet and adorable! My favorite part of the holidays is finding the perfect present for everyone in my family. I've gotten so excited about things I've picked out for people, that on 2 occasions, I accidentally blurted out what it was before they unwrapped the gift!

The best thing about the holiday season is seeing family you don't normally get to see in person. We have family coming up from 3 different states this year - SO STOKED!!!

I just love spending christmas with my family at my grandma's house. :)

The best part about the holidays is gathering with family to look at everything with thankful eyes.

I think my favorite thing is hearing my little girls talk about the birth of Jesus, knowing that they are getting the most important part of the season. :)

I think the very best thing about this season is all the wonderful, cozy scents! Nothing smells as good as the holiday season

Food!!! ZOMG all the delicious food! And so much of it! I love baking and I especially love it during the holidays because I'm doing it for other people. Joy and love out of my oven!

Curling up on the couch, with a full tummy, good book and something sweet, nowhere to go, I'm looking forward to that.

And I know a four year old little girl who would love Cinnamon SO much :)

My favorite part is Christmas morning and just enjoying and being thankful for Jesus!! : )

The best thing are the christmas light and decoration.
It makes our home so cozy when it's cold and snowy outside <3

The best thing about Christmas is being together with family and friends, and ofcourse we sing Christmas songs ... I love it.

Are you sure you want to give cinnamon away, because he is so cute !!

i love the food and seeing family

So hard to choose: scents, food, lights, decoration, snow, songs, cozy moments... Everything is perfect! If I have control over the time it would always be Christmas :)

Cinnamon is adorable! I have a hard time choosing my favorite thing about Christmas, too. I love spending it with family, I love the decorations, and I love all the food. I guess my favorite thing is all of it! :)

Family is the very best thing. I love all the family time this time of year.

cinnamon and our snow kitty from you would get along famously! and she is ADORABLE. my daughters both love the snow kitty and this would be a great prize for us.

my favorite thing is the tremendous sense of family and gratitude that i feel especially at this time of year. i am trying to instill that in my girls year-round, but this is a time of year when we make a lot of gifts for people and take the time to really connect with people.

i love the warmth of the season.

happy holidays & merry christmas to you!

My favorite thing about Christmas is being able to visit with our far away family. I also love all the lights and decorations too. Your cinnamon bear is so sweet.

Cinnamon is truly adorable! What I love about Christmas is the "waiting" time during all of December, and then spending Christmas with my grandchildren.

My favourite thing about Christmas has to be have a day or two to just spend with family. Making food and eating as a group.

Christmas comes alive when there are young children in the family. My kids are grown up but thankfully we have a 4 yr old to remind us of the magic of it all!
And he'd hug Cinnamon to distraction lol
Merry Christmas to you!

I don't celebrate the holidays, but I love spending time with my family.

Cinnamon is just lovely, thank you for sharing. I think the best thing is that people are often just happier and kinder to each other. I also love stockings.

She's so cute! The best thing about holidays is seeing your loved ones.

Your little Cinnamon Bear is such a cutie !
(and I just know someone who would be very pleased with it)
I lóve making (and eating) christmas cookies... (although right now I'm very busy felting ;-) ...)

My favorite thing about the holidays is the paid time off work. The week between christmas and new years is the best. I get to stay home and do whatever I want!
