Yay! It's Giveaway Day!

Giveaway Day is here!
It's time for mistletoe and holly, fancy ties and granny's pies and Giveaway Day!

Lumi the rag-polarbear

This is Lumi the rag-polarbear. Lumi means "snow" in Finnish, and while we don't currently have even a little bit of snow here yet, that doesn't stop Lumi from enjoying the holiday season one bit! She especially likes sparkly Christmas lights, and looking at all the shops' pretty holiday window displays.
Lumi is about 33 cm tall from her toes to the tips of her ears. She's made out of soft icy blue wool and she has little button eyes, an embroidered nose, blushy cheeks and a neat blue button for a bellybutton. She's stuffed with rags and a bit of polyfill. Lumi has a tick dark blue scarf knitted from cotton yarn to keep the winter chill at bay.

I am giving Lumi away to one lucky commenter who leaves a comment telling me what your favourite thing to do during the holiday season is between today and Friday the 12th. Each commenter will get a number, with the first to comment being number 1 and the second number 2 and so on, and then come the 12th, I'll randomly draw a number to see who Lumi will go home to (I'm happy to ship anywhere in the world, so it doesn't matter where you're from).
Do look through the whole, long list of wonderful crafters taking part in giveaway Day over at the Sew Mama Sew blog as well!

Much like Lumi, I like to go see the Christmas lights and window displays downtown, but my most favourite thing to do at Christmas is putting up my lights and decorations and especially trimming my wee twee Christmas tree.

Good luck and great Giveaway Day everyone! :)

Edit on the 12th of December: Commenting is now closed, and a winner will be announced soon!

Oh Giveaway Day is my favourite! I can't believe I forgot about it this year. But I do hope I can win my very own Rag Pet :)

My favourite thing to do during Chritmas holidays is inviting a bunch of friends over for some gingerbread cookies and hot glögi. I really enjoy the long peaceful days with no rush and no responsibilities, just hanging around and enjoying the company of poeple most dear to me.

My favourite thing is the food: cooking, baking and preparing. Then eating. But not too much, because there's usually so many things you want to try, it's better to just eat a little of everything. And then, I'm childishly fond of presents, even if I've bought them myself... ;-)

My favourite holiday activity is a thing of the past actually, since it was something to do with my younger siblings. Cracking nuts, given to us by uncle Pete, with a nut cracker dad had made. Sister was not strong enough to crack nuts, so we did it for her. Brother was often too enthusiastic and managed to smash the nuts entirely. When parents divorced, dad took the nut cracker with him. We never found one as good, and that was the end of nut cracking tradition.

My favourite thing is to take the fresh tree in on December 23rd, decorate it with red, green and silver mirrorglass balls from my childhood and red wax candles. In the end I hide a single little blue ball somewhere in the back, then light one candle on the tree and pour me a good glass of red wine. Best is if the kids (grown ups now) are around watching and shouting aaah and ooooh!

Me wanty wanty!

My favorite thing is to imagine that I live in one of these huge castles out of the movies or a small hut at a frozen lake where the fireplace crackles and I can sleep in while it is so cold outside, one can barely breathe. Then I wake up and fantasize with one of my best friends what we would put in our fantasy castle.

Such a beautiful doll! I must do this too!
My favorite aspect of the holiday season has been decorating the tree. This is our first year having a tree, so I've been making ornaments with my son and letting him hang them. His delight is infectious.

Our Christmas ornament party. everyone brings a ornament to share and make with others. This is our 25th year. My tree is covered with all of them for all the years. what good memories!!!

Sorry, I meant to say how cute Lumi is!

oh, he's darling! i love going to see all the Christmas lights, and my kids are starting to enjoy them as well! Thanks for the giveaway!

My favourite thing is decorating the house: christmas tree, nativity scene,...

I love the music and lights and of course Christmas cookies.

My favorite thing to do for the holidays is to pick an ornament for my kids each year that they get to open on Christmas eve...you can see how their likes and personalities have developed over the years by what kind of ornaments they get. Thanks for the chance!

I like to get my baking started and hope my boys don't eat all of it before the Christmas arrives!
Thank you for the chance*

Oh! Lumi is beautiful, I do hope she can come live with me! My favorite thing to do during the holiday season is most definitely taking long winter walks in the woods!

My favorite thing to do for the holidays is to drive around town and look at all the houses with Christmas lights. So pretty!

Baking cookies with my boys!

My favorite thing to do during the holiday season is setting up Christmas decorations with the hubby. We listen to Christmas music, have hot cocoa, I make a dessert and we always open a Christmas cracker each which always contains a silly paper crown hat, a joke and a sticker that we put on each others face

ahh my favourite thing is the picture puzzle time with a large mug of tea in the evening - I get a handful of pieces each day in my advent calendar ... apart from taht it's making snow-mans and sledging ... but the last years my sledge and I never were together when there was snow ..

May favorite thing is to make paper snowflakes with my grandkids. We hang them from the ceiling & it looks like a snow storm with the slightest movement of the air. This is something we did with our kids and it has carried on as a tradition each year. This year we have our great granddaughter with us & although she is too young to participate in the making, she loves to watch the snow flakes dance.

What an adorable bear! My favorite activity is drinking hot chocolate and admiring my pretty Christmas tree. (Plus, all the songs that include my name!)

Awww, Lumi is so cute! ^_^ My favorite thing to do during the holiday season is to go home and spend time with my boyfriend and my family. I'm away for college, so I don't get to be with them as much as I like to, but for the holiday season I get a whole month to be there. ^_^

My favorite thing to do during the holidays is giving gifts. I love finding or making the perfect thing for someone.

I love holiday foods and treats. I got excited when Eggnog started appearing in the stores. This year I'm trying something new with an evergreen wreath for the front door and a big cream pillar candle to light at night.

I love going to our church's carol service every year. It is the nine lessons and carols, so bible verses interspersed with some of the most lovely carols. It is beautiful! Nicola in South Africa

Aren't you the cutest thing there is. I would love to give you a home rag-polar bear. I love the holidays for food, treats, and snowball fights with my boys.

My favorite thing is making Christmas cookies with my daughter

My favorite thing to do is decorate with the help of my three grandchildren.

For me, it's a tie between food and lights. I love to drive around and look at all the beautiful displays people put up. But I also love baking with my mom and daughter. Baklava, kolachae, krumkake, rosettes, russian cream, caramels...it's all so good!

I like to decorate cookies during the season.

My most favorite thing about the holidays is getting together with family and friends to share special time together. I also love drinking coffee out of my Christmas mugs. Merry Christmas!
